Hank Johnson is the new Democratic Congressman for the 4th district of Georgia. He believes in maximum funding for schools with maximum flexibility/minimum tuition. He has always been against the Iraq war and believes it is hurting America instead of helping America. He believes in an early withdrawal of troops while maintaining security for them as they are leaving. He supports multilateral diplomatic engagement with other nations and the U.N. coupled with reduction of all weapons of mass destruction. He supports the expansion of job opportunities with good wages. He believes in robust civil liberties in concert with the Constitution and the courts and with no one being above the law regardless of their status. He believes that gasoline is an energy source of the past so that we must develop viable and inexpensive replacement fuels and otherwise strive to protect, preserve and enhance the envrionment. He advocates that everyone has affordable access to guaranteed health care. He introduced The National Commission on Detainee Treatment Act which would establish that our detainee treatment practices are constitutional, consistant with human rights treaties and reflect American values. He helped pass important ethics reforms of relationships between politicians and lobbyists.
