John Hall is the new Democratic Congressman for the 19th district of New York. Hall is a musician who co-founded Orleans, a political activist and an environmental activist. He favors swift withdrawal of troops from Iraq, universal healthcare. swift alternative energy conversion, Fully-funded No Child Left Behind and full Social Security. He did not support the invasion of Iraq and fully supports all of the Constitution. He favors ratifying the International Criminal Court treaty, the Land Mines Treaty, the Kyoto Treaty and other agreements most democracies support. He wishes the administration's "legalization" of torture would end so the U.S. can be thought of as a decent nation instead of a terrorist-bent nation. He believes above all that the U.S. should have a complete end of designing/building/testing nuclear weapons so that the whole world can move toward nuclear disarmament. He believes that every American should be guaranteed full access to quality health care and that the policy of catering only to the rich should end. He supports stem cell research and other technical means that will increase the lifespan of Americans which is below that of the other advanced national economies. He has a 7-step plan to solve the energy crisis: an Apollo /Marshall conservation/alternative energy push, raise car mileage per gallon, low-head hydroelectic generation, bio-diesel, an everybody-conserves energy initiative, solar power research/installation, cancel nuclear energy subsidies and spend the savings on more viable/safe energy technologies.
