Chris Carney is the new Democratic Congressman for the 10th district of Pennsylvania. He advocates U.S. military withdrawal from Iraq at the pace of training Iraqi Security Forces - whenever a battalion of Iraqis is trained, a battalion of U.S. soldiers comes home. He wants to expand benefits for U.S. veterans. He wants to make U.S. infrastructure much safer from any attempted attack. He wants to replace oil dependency with alternate energy sources. He wants to make Social Security completely protected from inflation and market fluctuations. He wants to make the tax structure fair for all not just skewed to benefit the rich. He wants to expand small business viability. He wants to ensure quality health care for all. He wants to keep handguns out of the hands of criminals and terrorists. He wants to reform No Child Left Behind so that it is truth instead of fiction, especially in the fields of teachers, school structures, curriculum and modern technology. He wants to increase the role of military ground robotics to decrease war casualties. He voted for the Science and Math Scholarship Act and for the Taxpayer Protection Act.
