Bruce Braley is the new Democratic Congressman for the 1st District of Iowa. He favors affordable health care for everyone, decent wages for every worker, decent retirement for everyone, fair trade laws, renewable fuels, fair taxes, affordable education, universal portable pensions, greatly reduced deficits, greatly reduced fraud in Iraq and elsewhere, oil company reform, fully funded education at all levels, retraining of dislocated workers and insurance pools for small business employees. He favors cnanging Iraq policy from continued occupation/war to corruption overhaul, withdrawal timetable and reconstruction/governing totally in the hands of honest Iraqis. He favors expanded stem cell research, reformed prescription benefits, rapid signup, lower drug prices and no coverage gap. He favors more secure borders and ports, rapid implementation of 9/11 recommendations, protection from risky Social Security privitization, promotion of health and education for women and comprehensive reform of health care for women, children and men. He wants Roe v. Wade to continue in effect and no criminalization of medical decisions. He strongly supports protecting the environment by fighting global warming and using other pro-environment conservation activities.
