FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 9-6-97

Physicians for Global Survival, Canada has been very active in the campaign to ban anti-personnel land mines which are installed by the armed forces of many nations. Many other Non Governmental Groups are also active in the international campaign to ban these inhumane devices. After many successes with governments, the push is now on for a successful Ottawa Conference december 97 for nations to sign a global ban on these devices. The Oslo Conference begins September 1 for diplomats from 100+ nations to negotiate details. Physicians for Global Survival, Canada is also active in abolishing nuclear weapons and in other health-seeking efforts. So PGSC has been named FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK.
