Graduation
project: Hotel in Guarapari, Brazil.
This
touristic resort / hotel was planned to accomodate the needs of the thousands
of tourists that invade the town of Guarapari during the summer
months. The hotel is located in the west corner of the areia preta beach,
an area that was suffering from erosion and depletion of its natural
covering. The problem was solved utilizing a concrete retention wall, which
served as the base for the complex. The building was designed in a "L"
shape, thus creating a central, protected social area. The plan was also
designed in such a way as to provide all the rooms with the amazing view
of the coast, as well as maintaining as small as possible the profile of
the vertical building mass, which then allowed the sea breeze to flow towards
the neighboring properties.
