Waiting

i once knew a girl who was unlike any other
she was the most beautiful of them all
and the kindest of friends
her eyes were wondrous
a gaze would leave me breathless
and the way she smiled, what a smile
so sad, so beautiful
she was troubled, i could tell
but she would never put herself
before anyone else
she was the kind of person
who brings joy all around wherever she goes
then one day, she simply disappeared
where she had gone, no one knew
i waited weeks, months, and years
without a single trace of her
so i still wait today
for my love to return

i once knew a girl

her name was christina
