Journey

i still cannot find any measure of peace
i have looked all around, turned to everything i could
but you still haunt me
all my thoughts
all my dreams
all my memories

i continue to chase sunsets over the lush valleys
from the top of green hills and mountain springs
i look to the horizon, the city, the ocean
looking for you in the vast plains and blue fields
through fog and rain, underneath a rainbow
nowhere to be found, nowhere to be seen

i am as lost as you are
somewhere in the middle of nowhere
just trying to find you once more
to see you smile and giggle
while i hold you in my arms
to hold your hand and keep you warm

i have traveled so far, so long
i feel exhausted, but i know i will find you
somewhere, somehow, i will find you again
so i keep traveling along the trail where dreams end
and breathe in the fresh and cool wind
for when i wake up, you will be there before me
and i will know then that it was all just a dream

so goodbye, my love
i shall see you once more
when the morning comes
