That Little Girl
that little girl in the corner of my mind
her sweet laughter, joyful and all
i tremble as i am watching her
what if she were to run away suddenly
then i'd be left all alone in here
don't go
please don't go
she stares at me with sorrowful eyes
come closer, you may cry on my shoulder
if she were to leave
there would be no one to take care of
if i were to leave first
then i would not be hurt, but would she
will you stay with me
and yet when i look at her she looks away
is she afraid of what's inside just as i am
we need not tell each other
the little girl in the corner of my mind
silently smiling at me
