Skylab 3:
The Decision to Go
I was an undergraduate astronomy major at the University of Massachusetts at this time. As such, time, and money was limited. The lauch was to take place during the fall semester of my sophmore year. We would need to keep time away from school to a minimum. We did.
A group of 6 of us, in two cars would drive non-stop from Amherst, MA to the Kennedy Space Center and back. This would minimize both time and expense. We succeeded.
