3/6/2001 Message of the Day

Precipitation:
Howdy! Lots of snow is still falling throughout
New England this afternoon. Some spots in
Massachusetts may have seen over 30 inches of snow.
California has been drenched with rain and snow in
the mountains... this will continue until the Low
coming in from the Pacific moves slowly inland.
No other large-scale areas of precipitation are
expected.
Temperature:
Temperatures will be cold for much of the northern
U.S. with cooler temperatures along the East Coast
thanks to the cold front that moved through the area
the past two days.
Challenge Questions:
Can you see any snowcover on the visible
satellite images today? (hints: 1. clouds move,
2. snow doesn't accumulate on lakes/rivers)
