PURPOSE and NOTICE

The Purpose:
The purpose of this site is to bring in one place, links to resources and information available on the web related to Population Biology, Evolution and Biomath.
It is meant to be an educational resource for:

This educational task should not be lessened, quite on the contrary, it should be pursued with strength and vigor, in the light of the flood of "scientific creationism" material published everywhere, including the web. For a small sample of this material, see the YAHOO index site, dealing with the Creation-Evolution debate. You can even see propaganda on the web for a "book evolutionists don't want you to know about" and its table of contents.
From a review of this book:
"Anyone affiliated with a university, ask the university library to order it". [!!!]
(Interestingly, the URL for this book came in place 17, out of 4245 sites, in a search that only had the keywords "Evolution" and "Population Genetics"). Besides, as stated in a recent document addressed to Evolutionary Biologists (please READ THIS document: " Evolution, Science, and Society: a "white paper" on behalf of the field of evolutionary biology - executive summary), there should be:
"active contributions from the scientific community toward informing the public about the nature, progress, and implications of evolutionary biology".
Who better than the people actively involved in research on Evolution can inform us about their areas?

...and the Notice:
However, it is also very important to mention that the contents of the pages to which these links lead, are the intellectual property of their respective authors or owners. Each site has specific copyright notices, and usage guidelines differ from site to site. Please take these into account when viewing and accessing these places. Some of the sites listed in this page state explicitly that contents can be freely viewed, copied or downloaded (i.e. software and on-line journals) subject to restrictions and requirements (i.e. subscribing or registering), or that copy is permitted only for personal use and/or scholarly analysis (such as some of the educational sites). For those sites where usage guidelines are not explicitly stated, it is assumed that the sites permit at least free viewing and consulting of contents. No site that explicitly or implicitly stated that their contents could not be freely viewed or accessed was listed. However, if the compiler indexed a site that is not meant to be available to the public, he will remove any links to that site at the author or site operator's request.

The purpose of this Index is solely and exclusively educational, and does not intend or support the violation of copyright laws. Authorship, source of documents and sites, and usage guidelines are explicitly stated wherever possible.

The ads and announcements are a policy of the home page provider and do not necessarily reflect the compiler's.

Addenda
I only have to add that this index meant a lot of time and effort (I don't get paid for this either). It is meant as a resource to the student and scientific community and can be reproduced in whole or in part only for non-commercial purposes. Proper acknowledgment to the compiler would be appreciated.

The compiler:
