The ancient and misunderstood Tai Chi Chuan... To start, let's say that Tai Chi Chuan (T'ai Ji Quan) is an internal chinese martial art. It is called internal because both its training and applications are based on cultivating, absorbing, circulating, redirecting, and liberating energy or chi (ji, qi). Tai Chi is also used for health or anti-stress gymnastics, known as Tai Chi-Chi Kung. For further information, I recommend the T'ai Chi magazine's WWW.
I sincerely recommend practicing Tai Chi. Martial arts, and particularly chinese ones, power up the individual and cultivate body and spirit, quite forgotten nowadays, and necessary to mental health and harmony. Tai Chi in particular, applies in many of its forms the chinese philosophy principles, elementary principles that I sincerely recommend, and I hope they open your mind as broad as they've opened mine.
