LA CRESCENTA, CALIFORNIA

I live in a medium sized town in the foothills of the Angeles National Forest. La Crescenta is situated North of Glendale, West of Pasadena, and East of San Fernando. It is a suburb of the well know city of Los Angeles. Things are for the most part quiet. But, lately, there has been many changes going on. Our town is getting flooded with all sorts of people. It use to be for the most part a town composed mainly of white people. Now, we have a diverse ethnic population. With this change, I feel La Crescenta is more rounded and a nicer place to live. I enjoy learning about other cultures, and tasting different foods from different countries. With the diversity comeing in, I am able to learn and taste more often.

Our school system is through the Glendale Unified School District. We have several Elementary school, One Middle School, and one High School. The schools which I attended, were Monte Vista Elementary, Rosemont Junior High School (now name Rosemont Middle School), and Crescenta Valley High School. In high School, I swam and played water polo for the school teams. I enjoyed competing very much.

Our streets are patroled by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept. They do an outstading job of keeping our town safe. They are quick to respond to problems throughout the town. They work with the schools with the D.A.R.E. and S.A.N.E. programs, and double as security.
