Elephant Foot Umbrella Stand
16 inch Diameter by 21 inches high
Yellow Pine
I always wanted an elephant foot umbrella stand, but they are hard to find. This one is made out of yellow pine 2 x 8's, precut and stacked. The toenails conceal a drawer that pops out when you press the two outer toenails. It works when the weather is dry. No elephants were injured to make this item.
30 by 36 by 18 inches
Birch Plywood and Oak
Rag Finish in Black & Grey
Built for a girl who LOVES Horses. Removable tray.
16 by 3 by 5 inches
Lace wood
Built to hold a turn of the century carving set.
Rattles
3 to 18 inches high
Assorted woods
I have turned a number of these rattles, for both adults and children. The rings are turned in place, which impresses people more than you would expect. The rattles are good to play with when stuck on the telephone.
Pet Coffin
14 by 12 by 8 inches
Varnished Pine
I was asked to make a coffin for some friends who were about to have their cat put down. Fortunately, I had some nice pine boards salvaged from a remodeling job. I built this in about two hours, and delivered it with the glue still wet. The lid is chamfered, with a nice Latin motto carved in it. Memento Mori, or "Remember Death". Every thing sound better in Latin.
Pentominoes
12 pieces based on 1 inch cubes
Black Walnut
A set of pentominoes based on the 12 animals of the Japanese Zodiac. I copied these form a book, but have lost the reference. If you know who designed these, please let me know so I can credit him.
