Windows on Science is a laser disk program I use to supplement science in grades 5 - 8. It is a complete program which consists of suggested hands-on activities interspersed throughout the lesson plans. The laser disks are divided into units, units are broken into sections, and the sections into lessons. The laser disks are filled with snapshots and movies that are used to enhance my science program. I do not use the program exclusively, but rather as an additional resource.
On several occasions I use the LCD projector. I use it to work through a CD program as a class, to demonstrate proper usage of search engines, and give group instruction while in the computer lab. Students also use it to present their multimedia projects.
A digital camera is used in a geometry unit in which students seek and photograph geometric images in the environment. We make a bulletin board display to end our unit on geometry.
