The most meaningful extracurricular experience to me
¢w National High School's Astronomy Workshop
After I quit my part-time job in Dec 1996, I felt very forsaken and discouraged - it seemed like I was no longer good in schoolwork. Fortunately, National High School's Astronomy Workshop was held at my school that year, and upon paying a visit to it, I discovered how astronomy interests me. Though I have been fascinated by science since childhood, astronomy had never been a favorite subject until that time. I was then involved in many related activities and had done two research projects about sunspots and had them published. Through the projects, I learned how to ask an adviser, how to discuss things, how to get along with schoolmates, and how to study positively. I could even say it has lightened and saved my high school life.
(P.S. This activity involves a speech per month and a workshop per year, sponsored by Prof. Fu in the earth science dept. of National Taiwan Normal University.)
