According to a Princeton University scientist a basic theory of science is wrong. It has been accepted that enough shaking will make particles settle in the most condensed form. This state is now believed to only 64% of maximum density. The scientist is now in the process of devising new laws that explains random paging better.

There is now more evidence of life on Europa, on of Jupiter’s 16 moons. The new theory suggests that the biological fuels are in place to produce life.

An upgrade to NASA’s 1000-mph shock tester will make jet engines safer. The machine will fire projectiles into the protective housings that keep passengers safe if the engine explodes.

Transistors have been getting smaller but the wires that connect them have remained the same. A new nanowire production method may solve this problem. Heating silicon atoms in the presence of 100 to 200 gold atoms produces the wires. The gold acts as the seeds for self-assembling silicon threads. The key to the process is using high temperature and pressure. Somewhere near 500°C at 5000 pounds per square inch.

A new solar car may use the power to the wind to recharge itself. The car will have a turbine mounted on top with blades that pivot. When they are going one way they will be vertical to catch the wind, but when they travel in the other direction they rotate to horizontal to minimize drag.
