Hilton and British Airways have created plans for the first orbiting resort. The resort would be built from empty space shuttle fuel tanks that, instead of being discarded before reaching space, would be brought into orbit and then fitted with living quarters. The design is based on the Skylab project that used a section of a Saturn V rocket for living quarters.

A new way of creating antimatter has been discovered. A laser is fired at a sandwich of gold and uranium, then the resulting plasma collides with the uranium atoms and creates antimatter.

Zebra Imaging has perfected a way of making large holograms that can be viewed from almost any angle. The process creates the image on a 2 by 2 foot square foot tile. The tiles are then fit together to create a large single image. The holograms may soon be in use on billboards.
