The Airbus A320 went into scheduled
service in 1988 was the first fly-by-wire commercial jetliner.
As a direct competitor of the Boeing 737, the Airbus offers our customers a more comfortable cabin and more overhead stowage to make domestic flights as comfortable as possible. We're using only the A320-200 that offers an increased gross weight and longer range than the -100, the -100 was the last Airbus without the characteristic winglets. Our domestic fleet has been completed with the introduction of the smaller Airbus A319 and the larger A321. Those aircraft are very similar to the A320, using the same fuselage cross section and wing. All narrowbody Airbusses share the same flight deck providing a high grade of commonality with the larger A330/A340. Sharing the same cockpit makes it easy to switch between all airbus fly-by-wire aircraft and helps saving tons of money. The European West A319/A320/A321 are equipped with International Aero Engine V-2500 engines, while the CfM56 is also available. The A320 cruises at mach 0.78 |
