19th April, 2000
From: Headquarters v355th Fighter Group
To: vMajor Joseph "AC" Worsley, Group Operations Officer, Group Training Officer, 355th Virtual Fighter Group
Dear vMajor Worsley,
The Group Adjutant suggested you
be put forward for an award based on your huge commitment, in terms of personal
time and effort, to the formation of and nurturing of the 355th Virtual Fighter
Group. The Group Commanding Officer seconded the motion enthusiastically.
Started back in August 1999 the v355th has thrived and grown as a community of
like-minded pilots, working together to further the aims of both excellence in
flight simulation and also the dignified but enthusiastic rememberance of the
bravery shown by aircrew during World War II.
In particular your work in establishing the early procedures for the v355th, your command of the Training school within the v355th and your continual efforts in helping us to preserve the spirit of what the Army Airforce was about when the letter was beyond us – was beyond value. Since then you have continually helped evolve the procedures and protocols of the v355th to enable us to grow enormously and still maintain that camaraderie and Esprit de Corps that we have striven for.
Sincerely,
vMajor Iain "Bear" Howe
Group Adjutant
355th Virtual Fighter Group
