if you
crash your helicopter throw away the main mast don't even think of keeping it, vibration
from a bent mast will destroy your radio and servos if you
don't have a high point balancer you can check the CG of your main rotor using two
glasses, adding more weight to the blade that's high
increase your rotor speed until helicopter just gets light on the
skids to check tracking
don't use heavier than kit blades in blade grips without thrust
bearings (bearings in grips will
seize)
i prefer to swing my blades, rather than lock them down
the lighter, the longer, the wider the paddle the quicker the
cyclic response; the heavier the paddle the slower the cyclic response
flybar stiffeners in flight only make your helicopter look pretty,
however if decide to crash they may prevent your flybar from bending |
