Problem Solving Strategies

This course is an elective to increase students' ability to solve problems using a number of different techniques.  Students will learn skills that they can apply to other math classes and disciplines.  Solutions to classic math problems such as Crossing the River with Dogs will be studied.  Inclusion of a unit for the preparation for the PSAT and SAT I will benefit students who are preparing for college entrance exams..  Skills students develop can be used not only across the curriculum but also in real-life situations.  Problem Solving Strategies will empower students, helping them develop creative thinking skills that will last a lifetime.
