This Page is about Packet Radio. You have to be a licensed ham radio operator before you can get on packet! The name Packet means its name its packets of infortion. On some bbs you can get in there by the Internet, using something like Telnet or something else but Telnet works the best. Then you have RF witch is slower but it works real good. For the radio side Ka-Gold works real good, I'm using Ka-Gold and of all the packet software I have used I think Ka-Gold is the best. After the software comes the hardware! For the Internet side you would need a computer and a modem, everyone knows that. But for the radio side you would need a tnc "Terminal node control" depend upon the tnc you would get depend on the baud of your radio. The tnc I would get for 1200 baud is the KPC-3. But if you want to get into 1200 and 9600 baud I would get the KPC-9612. I suggest a HT for 1200 baud. For 9600 I suggest a mobile rig.
