A simple photograph of a hologram can render the original 3D image by

chromatic encoding ofparallax!
You can appreciate some depth in the photograph showed here by using celophane paper, red in your right eye, blue or green in your left eye. The "blurring" on the hologram is a perfect encoding of depth.
 
This discovery was stimulated by my daughter Silvia in 1984, 9 years old at that time, a great developer of Web pages now.

The same effect is possible by just using a diffraction grating for photographing through, no laser light being involved!.
