United Democrats founded on December of 96 after the reunion of Liberal Democrats and the renewal social democratic movement. The second of which was the first party which start formal meetings with the leaderships of Turkish Cypriot parties with the encourage of those days Cyprus president and after our founder and president G.Vasilliou. As a party United Democrats believe that the meetings between 2 communities are necessary not because that such meetings will solve the Cyprus problem but because their absence will make the effort of solving it mare difficult. It is also our strong believe that the solution will not work if their is no confidence between the Cypriot citizens of both ethnic communities and the building of such confidence can be done before the solution with project like this. The solution of the Cyprus problem will be a bi-zone , bi communal federation.
