                 Precipitation: 

                 Rain will occur along a cold front that is pushing toward the eastern seaboard
                 today. Heaviest rainfall in the United States exceeding two inches may occur in
                 the Florida panhandle. This region will also have a chance for thunderstorms.
                 Heavy snowfall may occur in Maine. 

                 Challenge Questions: 

                 Why do you think that flooding is less likely when the ground is dry? Why might
                 cities have problems with flooding while the surrounding farmland might not?
