KGS MESSAGE OF THE DAY

3/8/2001 Message of the Day

Precipitation:

Howdy! A Low will be moving quickly through Texas today, giving the area some rain. A few flurries may occur around the Great Lakes thanks to a Low in the upper-levels, several miles above the surface. California should see some sunlight today, a change from the rainy/snowy days they have been experiencing.

Temperature:

Temperatures will be chilly for much of the U.S. except the Southern Plains and the states bordering the Gulf of Mexico.

Challenge Questions:

Why did the temperature change so much in certain areas of the northern U.S. and the East Coast, the past 24 hours? Is there more than one reason for this change?
