Balked Landing  (a.k.a. “Go Around” Procedure)

 

 

1.

Simultaneously, apply FULL Power and adjust Carburetor Heat to COLD.

2.

Retract flaps to 20o immediately.

3.

Pitch for 65 knots and establish a positive rate of climb.

4.

Retract flaps to 10o.

5.

Make sure that you have a positive rate of climb at 65 knots.

6.

Retract flaps to 0o

7.

Once above any obstacles, lower the pitch attitude to attain 74 knots and stabilize the climb.

8.

Announce your intentions.
