Welcome to the videogames area. Remember my last name is Pavan ? Well, I did that little trick probably 4 or 5 years ago, while instead of studying, I was playing with my computer. I didn't know what to do and then. . . You should understand from the above picture what is my favorite software house. If you don't, and it is very bad if you don't, you can clic on the picture and go to see their own web site !
The software house that I'm talking about is:
The first LucasArts game I played was probably Monkey Island. Who doesn't
remember that ? It was surely my favourite graphic adventure until Monkey
Island II LeChuck Revenge came out. That was owesome, I enjoyed playing that
game so much, remember you had to steal the lens to the small guy, the one
who was used to work with geographic charts, to give that lens thing to
the boat guy to take you to the islands ? Well, I realized that only after
1 month that I was playing it.
Do you know the trick to finish the game in Monkey Island II ? Just press,
ALT+W (or CTRL+W I don't remember) and see what happens. Anyway it is more
interesting if you finish the game by your self.
LucasArts is great because they did Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis,
I remember I bought that game with my mother's money because I passed a degree
at school.
It was unbelievable how the sounds were like when you entered the
jungle to go to the temple ! Remember atlantis, the puzzles you had to solve
where a little bit hard, especially the last one, but anyway I aced the game.
Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis was and it is a fantastic and special
adventure, even because you can select between three (I believe) game modes,
you have the first one playing with the help of the woman (I dont't remember
her name), the second one is playing by yourself but using your brain to solve
the puzzles, and the third and last mode is playing by your self with using
your strenght (means to beat the others) to ace the game.
LucasArts then came out with Day of the tentacle, another great graphic
adventure with amazing animations. Inside the game pack you had also the
Maniac Mansion game ! I remember that I finished that game only playing it
for three days, both morning and afternoon. It was too easy, but at the same
time it was great. I enjoyed it so much: I suggest you that if you didn't play
that game yet, to play it in the future because it's fantastic !
Another great success of Lucas is Full Throttle, another graphic adventure,
where you are Ben Whatshisname (yes, that is his last name) and you are the
leader of a gang of bikers called the polecats.
Rebel Assault II, is another big title from Lucas, and Dark Forces too.
The dig is another graphic adventure, where you'll try to save our planet earth from colliding with a big asteroid. You'll be the commander of the mission, I enjoyed that game too much. The entire adventure is on an alien planet, you discover life on that planet and your aim is to bring your crew safely at home. Very amazing animations of the shuttle leaving earth orbit !!
If you go to see Lucasarts Entertainment Company home page, you'll find out that they're planning to develop the Monkey Island Three version. If you played Monkey Island and Monkey Island II, you can't miss the third episode. You can watch some of the picture in their site, here's the right link for you !
There it goes another software house. They're pretty much famous right now
because of their last great success: Command & Conquer, Red Alert. They're:
Gee, what can I say about Westwood guys, their games are merely fantastic, if
you played at Dune II and C&C you will probably know what I mean.
