Notes:The FD model has a fully digital cockpit hence the FD designation. This model features fully digitised avionics system,HUD, HOTAS (Hands on throttle and stick),vector map generator on one of three LCD multifunctinal displays and an inbuilt GPS. The Italian's have ordered this version for themselves and our nearest user is New Zealand which uses the MB-339C with standard systems.The Aermacchi was to be partly built in Australia by Hawker De Havilland if successfull.

Notes: A.K.A. BAe Hawk 100, But built to carrier standards. Therefore still arguably the best advanced trainer/light attack aircraft. USN built them to train F-14 and F/A-18 pilots. Has an enhanced airframe hours over the Hawk as it is a stronger aircraft due to the Carrier tasks. Heavier than the Hawk, but this can be expected due to the stronger Undercarriage and stronger airframe.
