[My wife] is in law school...doing well, though she's not the kind of person who appreciates greedy, self-concerned cut throats, and hence gets frustrated at much of the student body. She will be a social worker again soon.

One lady with a crew-cut in my [theology] discussion group never looked anyone in the eye, she just kept saying she doesn't know what to believe, while the other woman kept talking about God being in patterns. Not a theist, not a deist, but a divine patternist.

Humanae Vitae is the controversial encyclical issued by Paul VI in 1968 regarding the regulation of birth. The current pope was instrumental in its formation. Evangelium Vitae is a recent encyclical regarding our "culture of death" (assisted suicide, abortion, etc.) stemming from moral relativism which was addressed in the prior, recent encyclical, Veritatis Splendor, regarding the splendor of truth and the snares of moral relativism's rise above absolute, universal truths. The Redeemer of Man (Redemptor Hominis), was issued March 4, 1979.
