The body color is navy, and trim striping is gold. The high impact-resistant plastic body is painted on the inside to prevent crash scratches.
  • So first, windows and the false bed are masked off (a brutal lesson in precision), and a coat of royal, metallic blue was applied intentionally heavily to generate runs that render a marble appearance in the end.
  • Second, the masking was removed, and the ND window sticker (which also happens to correspond to my initials) seen on the bed was trimmed to its edges and applied on the inside of the bed.
  • Finally, the whole inside surface is back-coated with glossy black to create a tinted window effect, as well as darken the blue.

That's an ND sticker on the door as well, and, indeed, a Nittany Lion decal on the tailgate.

The body was the most tedious job, though the chassis and "guts" were completed first and were far more pleasant to assemble (from nothing but bags of screws, plastic pieces, and other miscellaneous parts).

Body removed, gander at the "guts."
