Simulation: Expansion of the cytokinetic complex
(green)Phragmoplast scaffold
(orange)Cell plate.

  1. Following re-structuring of former spindle scaffold, the phragmoplast has appeared between daughter nuclei (not shown; would be above and below the complex).
  2. The phragmoplast is involved in directing and depositing packages of materials to form the new cell plate between daughter cells.
  3. The complex expands centrifugally from the center.
  4. The flexible cell plate contacts and fuses with the lateral parental walls, and will later mature to form the cross-wall between the new daughter cells.
