Construction I built the B-1 according to the inscrutions in the kit except for a few minnor details. I keep the "can" from the old Revell kit but I knew they don't look like what has in the kit now,so to hide the "turkey feathers" I made F.O.D covers out of tissue paper and white glue. I didn't do much detail to the cockpit as I have the theroy of "If you can't see don't build it!" and from my point of veiw you can't see much of it anyway. the removeable hatch over the Nav and defense seats as glued in place and filled in to give the plan better lines.
Painting I unlike some floks like the B-1 painted in the Grey scheme,But mustly I paint it this was becouse I like tail codes,I find them very usefull as you can tell where the plane is from, about how old it is and you can't forget those colorful tail bands. After I airbrushed the Gear and Bomb bay I masked them off with tiusse and air brushed the whole plane witModel Master Gunship Grey FS36118. after that I sprayed it with Testors glosscaot form the can.
Markings Ok, So this is the second time I panted and decaled this plane. The frist time was back before Fox One released their sheet for the B-1. The frist time I decal the plane for the grey scheme I used around 20 different decal sheets, but when the Fox one sheet came out I removed them with masking tape and/or sanding and repainted.
Fox One's decael sheet is buitifull it has markings for 4 B-1s used in the mid to late 90s and incluses on a seperate sheet all the stencle data you would need and steps on how to improve the kit and paint it right
Weathering
To me, One of the things that this model cried out for was so work on the panel lines. I started by drawing in the line with a .5 lead pencial after I spayed the model with Dullcoat, Working in sections I rubbed the lead in witha paper towal to give the lines a dirty faded look,After that I sprayed it agian with dullcoat to remove the shinny metlaic look of the lead
