Written in 1993, this book is not new, but design fundamentals does not change!

From an introduction describing the differences between wireline and wireless systems, Lee provides the reader with knowledge on the radio environment in which cellular as well as non-cellular system works. Prediction of propagation loss and methods for reduction of interference are explained. Further, Lee explains all the parameters in mobile system design - both from the base station side and the mobile handset side.

The book also includes good guidelines for frequency planning, as well as for ensuring a smooth growth path as capacity requirements grow.

CDMA, broadband technologies, and microcellular systems are also covered.
