Professor Turner walked into the class room and closed the door behind her."Today we will be learning about Augureys. Augureys are also known as Irish Phoenixes. They are native of Britain and Ireland. They are also found in northern Europe. They are very thin and almost always look mournful. They look like a small underfed vulture in appearance and are greenish black. They are VERY shy. The Augurey nests in bramble and thorns and eats large insects and fairies. They only fly in heavy rain and otherwise remain hidden in their tear-shaped nests. The Augury has a low pitched cry that was once believed to for tell death (like a banshee). Wizards avoid their nests because of this. Their cries can cause heart-attacks, and Uric the Oddball was believed to have slept in a room containing a few Augureys. Augurey feathers cannot be used as quills as they repel ink." She explained smiling. |
