1 Very small elastic band or rubber band

small amount of crochet thread

Size 7 or smaller crochet hook

Row 1: Sl st onto elastic band, ch 1, sc around band. Join

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in beginning st, (ch 4, sc in next st) around. Ch 4,

join in first st. End off.



Ruffled Scrunchie

Worsted weight yarn, any type but cotton recommended

One large covered hair elastic (Goody, etc)

Size G or H crochet hook

Rnd 1: Working around large hair elastic - Join to elastic with sl st. Ch 2 (counts as first hdc). Work 29 hdc, join with sl st to 2nd ch of first ch 2.

30 st total.

Rnd 2: Ch 4 (counts as first trc) trc in same st as joining. 2 trc in each st around. Join with sl st to 4th ch of first ch 4. 60 st total.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, ch 3. Sc, ch 3 in each st of previous rnd. Join with sl to first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Any color sprt or worsted weight yarn, large goodies pony holder, E or F hk, 45 pony beads to match or contrast color of yarn

45 sc around elastic. Join with sl st.

Rd1> ch3, * 1dc in front lp, 1dc in back lp of sm stitch. rep from * around. join with slst to top of ch3

Rd2> repeat rd. 1

Rd3> ch2, draw up a bead, ch2, slst in both loops of nx sc, ch3, slst in both loops of nx sc,* ch1, draw up bead, ch1, slst in both loops of nx sc, ch3 slst in both loops of nx sc. rep from * around. join with slst to top of beg ch4 with bead.end off weave in ends.This can be done without the beaded ruffle at the end for a more simpler scrunchie.



Midnight Scrunchie

I made this in black Chenille senstaions. "G" hook

Rnd 1. join to hair tie. ch 1 sc around,(must have multiple of 3) join with sl st to beg sc.(for a good size you should have at least 45)

Rnd 2. ch 3 for first dc. 2 more dc in same stitch. 3 dc in each sc around. join with sl st to top of beg ch 3.

Rnd 3. ch 1. *sc,hdc,dc in same st. ch 3 sl st in3rd ch from hook (picot), dc,hdc,sc all in same stitch(picot shell made). sk next 2 sc* rep between ** around. sl st in beg sc. fasten off.

I haven't tried it but I think that maybe 1 white faux pearl in each picot might look nice too.

Materials: Worsted weight “soft” yarn, crochet hook size G, large pony tail elastic

Round 1: Join yarn to elastic with a sc, (ch 5, sc in the ring) 39 times; ch 5, join with a sl st to the first sc.

Round 2: Sl st into the first ch 5 sp, ch 2, work 5 dc in the same space, ch 2, sl st in the same space, (sl st in the next ch 5 sp, ch 2, 5 dc in the same space, ch 2, sl st in the same space) 39 times; join with a sl st to the first sl st. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Materials: Worsted weight yarn, crochet hook size G, large pony tail elastic

Round 1: Attach yarn to elastic with a sl st, ch 1, 45 sc around the elastic; join with a sl st to the first sc.

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the same st as joining, ch 3, sk 2 dc, sc in the next dc, turn, sc in each of the 3 chs, turn, sc in the 2nd skipped dc, *ch 3, sk next unworked dc, sc in the next dc, turn, sc in each of the 3 chs, turn, sc(behind cable) in the last skipped dc* Repeat from * to * 19 times; ch 3, sc (in front of the first cable) in the first skipped dc of the round, turn, sc in each of the 3 chs, turn, join with a sl st to the first sc. (22 cables) Fasten off. Weave in ends.
