"Standing Alone"

We go through life alone

We are the first one we can depend

Upon; we are the one who can defend

Our cause, if we are strong.

And yet,

How insufficient to the task are we.

We must make our way, we have ourself alone

No other can do what WE must do

For if /someone/ could, then who?

We lives in ourselves, the I in we

And yet,

We are not strong.

We alone must find a way and yet,

There is another of whom help we get.

(We live within a sphere of all

Built from God, relational ball

And so,

We can love.)

Though we alone must find the way

There is a guide for way to find

In the heartfelt halls of our own mind

We must seek the path.

God is only to be found when sought

Unless we seek, our time is nought.
