Poem (#1) for 01/25/02 by Benjamin M. Walsh:
"A Celebration of Sesquipedalia"
When lepidoptera attack,
And threaten to protract your fusty gewgaws
Into protruberance,
Vamoose. And leave
An abacus as vanguard
To the sound of your bucolic chocolate-box retreat
Played on a bugle.
And when you're a fugitive alfresco
Beware of antedations in cause-and-effect relationships.
And don't drink too much on your antepenultimate potation, lest you grow inebriated.
You vapid annelid! You're not fleeing, are you?
Oh well. WYSIWYG, at least you're honest.
Did I ever say how calorific you are?
Bootless.
