Robert Louis Stevenson Poem (for 01/04/01): "Dogs" Among all Nature's frightners hence Before me in my quiet life There is but one that makes me tense And fills my mind with fearful strife Dogs! Their eyeses gaze at me And cover my brow with sweat Dogs! Their noses point at me So vast, and cold, and wet! Their snapping jaws bite my face! Their dirty paws defile the place! Their presence cause-es much disgrace! In short, they ain't no cats. They bounce high up! Then bounce once more! I used to hate them... But now... we have four. |
