Dallas Area Contra Dance Bands gives a description of the
contra dance bands in the Dallas area.

Austin Contra Dance hosts contra dances at least once a week.

Houston Area Traditional Dance Society holds a contra dance every other weekend.
- There are regular contra dances in Oklahoma in Oklahoma City
and Tulsa.

Arkansas Country Dance Society sponsors a dance weekend at the
Mountain View Folk Center in September and a big Scottish dance
on New Year's Eve, in addition to their weekly dances.

International Folk Dancers meet every Wednesday night
7:30 to 10:00 PM at Dance Etc., SW corner of Coit at Arapaho
in far North Dallas (almost Richardson). Their web site lists other
ethic dance groups in the area.
- Southwest Celtic
Music Association sponsors Irish music and dance events in the
Dallas area, including Irish Fest each spring.
- Dance With Cory - C&W and Ballroom dancing
lessons in Carrollton, TX.
- Dancing in Dallas
has an extensive list of classes and events for many types of
dance, including Ballroom, Country and Western, Swing, Latin, Tango, etc.
- DFW International lists
many kinds of ethnic events in the Dallas area.
- Country Dance and Song Society
is a national organization that has group affiliates across the country
(including NTTDS). It sponsors various dance camps
throughout the year, chiefly at world-famous Pinewoods and Buffalo Gap.
They also sell music and dance books and recordings.

The Library of Congress has over 200 dance manuals
from the 1400s to the 1900s, in both an image and a text format.
Each of the manuals includes a description and history of the item.
Pretty impressive piece of work.
