Unless he is in a high income bracket, the average enthusiast can't afford to put much money into a dune buggy.  He is limited also on the use to which he can put a vehicle of this type and to get his money's worth.  That's why Dean Jeffries; Hollywood automotive stylist has turned his attention to off road cars and produced this unique design. Jeffries new Kyote II is really for buggies in one. It can be used as a street legal machine or for off road activities.
Kyote II is converted in minutes from a station wagon, panel truck or pickup truck to a sporty dune buggy.  In all its forms it is completely street legal under state motor vehicle codes.  The versatility is achieved by merely changing the fiberglass body parts.  All that is needed is a 7/16ths wrench and, in some of the changes, no tools are required.
As a station wagon, the buggy has a full two-piece top with windows and a luggage carrier.  To convert to a panel truck, the windows are slipped out and replaced by panels that easily slide into place.  The buggy can be converted to a pickup truck by removing the rear portion of the top and exposing the pickup bed.  A 7/16ths wrench does the trick.

The front portion of the top remains, but it is removable if the owner wishes to convert to an open sports buggy.  He can install a surrey top on it, which Jeffries makes available, if he wishes to use it in the desert or at the beach and wants protection from the sun.
The rear seat, which seats three, can be folded down in converting to a station wagon or panel truck for utility use.
Jeffries has made it easy for enthusiasts who want to make their own buggy  using his Kyote II fiberglass body kit and installing it on their own VW chassis.  The body is designed to fit on a full length VW chassis, whereas most fiberglass bodies are designed for a shortened VW chassis.  The Kyote II body is bolted down with four bolts.  Nothing has to be done to the chassis.
Ease of entry and exit for the buggy is made possible by doors plus a tailgate that swings open similar to standard station wagons.
Jeffries is marketing the basic body for about $400.00, but the tops and additional accessories will bring the price up to the $1300.00 to $2800.00 bracket.   Jeffries Automotive Styling is located at 3077 Cahuenga Blvd., Hollywood, California. 90028.
