Concern for the Less Privileged

The less privilege is a concern among the members of SBMS. It is vital that while we were conscious of the environmental protection, our less privileged fellow countrymen must also be the concern of the members. In order to achieve this, the training climbs provided an opportunity for the members to visit the Aeta Community in Zambales, on their way to the peak of Mt. Makinew. The members brought some canned goods and old clothes for the community.

The elderly was also the beneficiary of the second outreach program. In line with the activities of Kampaligiran 99, the group decided to conduct an outreach activity at Bahay Kalinga, Paco, Manila. The group was able to share their experiences with the elderly and the interaction was very fruitful. In the end, the elders were so delighted that there were some people who took their time out from the usual schedule to visit them and give them fruits and shirts. The outreach program is in connection with the tie up of the Community Involvement Center (CIC).
