HI !!!!! I'm glad you stopped by!
My name is John Brock and I am a semi professional sand drag racer from Tucson, Arizona.
I used to race a homemade dragster that is powered by a Ford 302 engine, This dragster had a "stock" engine, at least the insides of the engine were all stock. The fastest time I have turned with it was 4.40 seconds, quite fast for a heavy chassis with a stock motor!
I am currently reserecting an old front motored dragster that will be operating soon, I hope.
Pictures should be available soon.
Sand drag racing is like asphalt drag racing with a few major differences:
We race on a "sand" surface that is really more of a sand, dirt, and gravel mixture and we only race 300 Ft. It would be unsafe to race any further than this due to the speeds involved, some of the vehicles are capable of more than 120 mph in this distance.
This is my old "rail" taken at Blythe Ca. in February 1998
It may be ugly but it was a barrel of fun and on a pretty low budget also!
But alas, it just wasn't all that competitive
I have aquired a front motored dragster chassis which is now undergoing a facelift and having my engine and transmission installed hopefully it should be operating some day soon.
I thank everyone who has taken the time to sign my guest book.
