Oh what a day it has been, dear Website! As we pulled into the filling
station in Rundu, noticed a rather deflated front right tyre - "Oh God, not
AGAIN!" Yup, another puncture. So, while I sorted out the repair, Jeremy
procured some lunch. Spent the next few hours - on the road to Grootfontein -
trying to convince ourselves we were not on the longest runway in the world - a
dead-straight road.
40km outside Grootfontein a loud BANG erupted from the same wheel as we'd had
"repaired" - a blow out! (Photo 1). Great! Whatever you do, don't have
your punctures repaired at KAVANGO GARAGE, Rundu!

Having lost a GOOD deal of time, filled up with fuel at Otavi (near where the
Germans surrendered to the SA forces during World War 1) - god, they farm camels
at the filling station! (photo 2).

Reached Otjiwarongo at 5:30pm - decided too late to reach Waterberg -
raining!!!!!!! anyway. So checked in at a local hotel - LUXURY! Steve has either
bad stomach flu and fever, OR malaria. But he DID enjoy the luxury of a hot bath
- WITH foambath and a soft white towel, with thunder and rain
outside!
So, after a good restaurant dinner, a good night's rest. Chat again
tomorrow.
