Early start played havoc with Hannah. The road north to Opuwo now MUCH better - sadly - so many more people! And not the most environment-conscious either!!!! Largely South African in huge convoys, bearing microwaves, generators, TV's, every latest modcon 4X4 item - AND LOUD MUSIC and alcohol to excess.

All leapt out and marvelled at the first mass sighting of baobabs (Adansonia Digitata) - pic 1). Procured more supplies at Opuwo - possibly the most depressing urban establishment in Namibia! Through the wilds and over rough roads to one of the most stunning spots on offer ANYWHERE - Epupa Falls! (Pic 2). These magnificent falls on the Kunene River on the border between Namibia and Angola, are threatened by a HEP dam planned by the powers that be. May they lose power soonest! (pic 3). What a night with the roar of the falls, a mere 10 metres from our camp!
