Steve, Adrienne and Jerry did the
walk to the cave upstream of the falls, spotting a breeding pair of
Martial Eagles (MartIAN, Adrienne thought they were!) and a troop of
chacma baboons. AND, to Adrienne's delight, the remains of a leopard kill!
Camp emptied - we were the only folk there for most of the day.Wonderful!
The pool a real delight (pic 1). Sunset from the cliff overlooking the
camp and the mountains and plains in the distance - AND some bat-watching.
HEAVEN! To sleep to the tune of running water and hundreds of frogs.
Whoops - forgot to mention that S&J headed into the town of
Sesfontein (6 fountains) to try to replace the supplies they'd lost at
Swakop - quite inadvertently, of course!. NO shop open, but popped in at
the old German fort, now a luxury lodge - pic 2. AND had a nice little dip
in the pool above the falls (pic 3).
