Hello all....
Yesterday we took Rachel back to Children's Mercy Hospital.... her temperature had jumped up and she was chilling. Rachel and I had just been to weekly clinic on Friday and come home with a clean bill of health so this came as a shock to us all.... in short, we fell apart.
Diana spent the night at the hospital with Rachel. She just called me a while ago and all is well. The doctors/nurses did all the tests through the day and last night and the drama played out with Rachel's blood. The white count and platelet counts went up high during the day and early evening yesterday...
Rachel's new blood system was battling the illness just as our own systems would. The white/platets counts were going down this morning... the "soldiers" were going home from battle. Rachel's temp, which had gone up throughout yesterday had come down. The only concern is a minuscule amount of blood found during the urine analysis... possibly a graph versus host problem. So they're going to keep Rachel there at the hospital a while longer.
Some of you received an email from me yesterday... I was sort of hanging on the edge of an emotional cliff with a lot of scary thoughts going through my mind. Instead of going to church this Easter morning I started cleaning the kitchen... what's that about idle hands being someone's workshop?
The message from Diana is a "resurrection" of sorts of our hopes/lives... and a strong reminder that life is precious... each day... no cliche... we're living it.
We know many of you prayed for Rachel last night on the eve of this great Christian feast/season. Thank you.
Easter/Passover blessings
