If you take scripture seriously you'll recognize there a spiritual forces in the universe that have been operating behind the scenes, which are not very well recognized today. We take very seriously Paul’s statement in Ephesians 6 that "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual powers and wickedness in high places". And we see through-out scripture warnings not to tamper with different kinds of spiritualistic forces, there were severe penalties for individuals who were involved in seances, that would attempt to communicate with the dead, for the Bible says that "they know not anything." Yet there has always been an emphasis on this occult, and man attempting to find meaning through correspondence and communication with the occult. Today we see this in the form of Clairvoyance, in which individuals have a perception of the world around them, not through an ordinary sense experience. People report being aware of activity taking place in other parts of the world, of individuals who claim to have telepathic powers that they can read the minds of other people and they can communicate mind to mind apart from the known sensory channels. We see individuals arising today, although we say scientifically that this is Precognition, it's known anciently as Prophets; False prophets will arise, and we have people of the stature of Jean Dixon, who are making fantastic claim about future operations. Enough credibility to make us pay attention, enough error to make us feel a little bit lacksidasical. We even find a fascinating study in Psycho-kenises, where individuals, through powers unknown to human science, are able to manipulate material things and make them move and change shape. We recognize some of the trappings of the old spiritualistic Seance.

You see, if Satan can take these modern mediums and turn them into a religious form, for one thing he could revive the flagging spirits of Protestantism in the United States. Mrs. White tells us that under the guise of religious principles a new and exhaulted system of faith, in which peoples senses will be dazzled. Those who have no authority other than psychology, those who do not believe in Biblical norms, will find something very attractive in the dazzling array of the super-natural. This will revive Protestantism, Spiritism will pretend to be converted, this will have an appeal for all people; to the unbeliever, it will present a new unleashed power which is supposedly inherent in every man. Then of-course we become Gods, and who needs some god in the future or up in the sky, when this power resides in ourselves. And to the believer it represents a very captivating form of contemporaneous revelation, why read a dead book about the past, when you can have a current revelation perhaps with the Apsotle Paul, in which every man you see becomes this dynamo of revelation and reception of divine force. And Satan appears as the benifactor of the human race, and we will see in the days to come, very marvelous things done through what is called Extra-Sensory Perception, in what is called Para-Psychology.

Protestantism becomes revived, but without any concessions tothe Word of God; it is all contemporaneous, it's all here and now. Ah, now you see scientists becoming involved American Association for the Advancement of Science officially recognized ten years ago, Para-Psychology, as a legitimate science. Religious leaders are becoming interested in the possibilities of para-psychology because of the development of the human spirit; scientists are now measuring the phenomena, and through experimental design, and through statistics, which we will explain next time, science is now endorsing the phenomena which God has forbidden many, many years ago.

And so Protestantism is revived, Science endorses the phenomena which Protestants espouses, and the Papacy becomes impressed. Not only have Protestants maintained without question the very symbol of Papal authority, the Papal right to transfer the Sabbath to Sunday, Sunday Sacredness, but now you see they are becoming more and more interested, and they will in the days to come, in that which the Catholics have always been interested in: the veneration of the Saints, stic phenoma, the papacy is perking up its' ears and becoming impressed. And ways will be developed to have a relationship between these forces in which science endorses; and if the political system has become so corrupt that if can be swayed by any power force in society, let's say by labor unions, political action groups, the Moral Majority, what is to prevent the political process from becoming a handmaiden of religious structure. If popular demand insists that on a basis of getting everyone together under the same moral roof, this becomes necessary for society. Political forces would bow down or will concede.

But in all of this Satan appears as the benefactor of the human race; performing miracles, supernatural things, wonderful things that appeal to our senses. How can you talk to someone when they have a sense experience of something that's happening. And how can you talk to them about from a book when their senses perceive all of these phenomena going on in front of them or within them. And all of this captivates the senses. But there is also another aspect of spiritism that we must also think about. Not only is Satan a benefactor of the race, at least he appears to be, he also works through the elements to destroy or to hurt. Now if, at the same time, there is this relatedness that exists between these different thrusts that I have spoken about. If they begin to see eye-to-eye, if they begin to find points in common, then if Satan would work through the natural process to cause catastrophe, wars and rumors of wars, supernatural things occuring in the natural world. With the revival of religious interests and religious concerns, with the corruption that has occurred in our society, it will not be difficult for the religious leaders to interpret these calamities as judge- ments of God upon our world from defecting from religious principles.

And then the world comes to a point, pyschologically, with corruption, with calamity, with which there is a world panic. And there will be an insistence because of this panic to convert the whole world, not only to survive, and stop all of this corruption, but to avert what is considered judgements of God. Now that gets us into the next historical thrust, World Confederation.
